ESSENTIAL DRIVER TRAINING PROGRAMME (EDT)

If your first category B (car) learner permit is dated on or after 4th April, 2011 you are required to complete the EDT Training Programme.

You are not allowed take a driving test in the first six months of your first learner permit. This is to allow you time to complete the EDT Programme.

The 12 EDT lessons will give you the vital skills to develop your driving ability and work towards becoming a competent driver. You are also advised to get plenty of practice with your sponsor to reinforce the training.

At the beginning of your first EDT lesson I will give you your official log book to record details of your training and I will stamp the book for each of the 12 lessons. This log book can also be used to track your progress and document areas that need practice in preparation for the next lesson.
